Every finished shower looks fine on handover day. The difference between one that is still fine in year five and one that is rotting the framing is decided at this stage, with the tile off and nobody looking.
Pan, slope, sheeting and the joints in the corners. That is where a leak starts, and it is the one part of the job you cannot inspect once it is tiled, so it is worth asking any contractor how they do it.
